BUSINESS INVESTOR STREAM VISA
The Australian Business Investor Stream (Provisional) is a temporary business skills visa valid for up to 4 years and 3 months that allows successful business people to invest in a new or existing business in Australia.
It also allows immediate family members (spouse and dependent children) or partners, who have been included on the application, to live, work and study in Australia. The visa holders may be eligible to apply for permanent residence under the Business Innovation and Investment Visa category which, however, may entail sponsorship from a participating State or Territory government.
Australian Business Investor Stream Visa Basic Requirements

Invest at least AUD1.5 million in an Australian State or Territory and maintain business or investment activity in Australia. |

Have net business, investment and personal assets of at least AUD2.25 million |

Score at least 65 on the points test |

Nomination |
Must be nominated by an Australian State or Territory government agency before being invited to apply for this visa |

Have at least 3 years’ experience managing one or more qualifying businesses or eligible investments Have a successful record of eligible investment or qualifying business activity Have demonstrated a high level of management skill in relation to the eligible investment or qualifying business activity |

Applicants are required to lodge an Expression of Interest (EOI) through an online system called “SkillSelect.” Upon EOI submissions, applicant’s details can be viewed by Australian employers, state and territory governments as well as the Australian Government who have the ability to issue an invitation to submit a visa application.
